Castle Lite “Reload Your Summer” Campaign PROMOTIONAL COMPETITION RULES
  1. This promotional competition (“Competition”) is run by The South African Breweries (Proprietary) Limited (“Promoter”) and is open to all persons of 18 years or older and resident in South Africa, except the employees and their immediate families of the Promoter, the Promoter’s advertising and promotion agencies, associated companies, and outlet owners and staff.

 

  1. These rules may be amended by notification on the website at any time during the Competition, and will be interpreted by the Promoter only. Participation by all entrants (“Participants”) constitutes acceptance of these rules.

 

  1. The Competition begins on 1 January 2017 and ends on 31 March 2017 (“Competition Period”) and will be run in participating outlets only.

 

  1. The prizes:

4.1 MAIN PRIZES: Three eligible winners will each win one of 3 second-hand BMW 325i’s (Gusheshe), each to the value of approximately Four Hundred Thousand Rand (R400 000.00) as the main prizes, by way of random monthly draws. One draw will be done at the end of each month during the Competition Period (January, February and March). All entries received during the Competition Period prior to the date of a particular monthly draw, will be entered into that draw for the main prize.

 

4.2 OTHER PRIZES: There is also Extra Cold Cash and prepaid airtime to the total value of R2.4 million, of which twelve rand (R12.00) airtime denominations will be won by 83 349 winners, and cash amounts to the value of two hundred rand only (R200.00) will be won by 4 761 winners. Winners will be drawn each week from all the entries received during that week of the Competition Period. Participants will have to enter again during the following week to be entered into that week’s draw. For all cash prizes of R200.00 each, STANDARD BANK will send a once-off card-less cash withdrawal code to the winner’s cellphone number (only to the cellphone number from which that winning entry was received). Prepaid airtime denominations of R12.00 value will be loaded onto the cellphone number from which the relevant winning entry was sent.

 

  1. To enter the Competition and stand a chance to win any of the above main prizes and cash prizes:

    5.1 Participants must purchase a Castle Lite 660ml promotional pack at a participating outlet during the Competition Period and send the unique code via USSD, found on the bottle top underliner, to *120*3338*(unique code)# (“Entry”). A unique code is only valid for one entry and cannot be re-used.

    5.2 Airtime is prepaid only and excludes Virgin Mobile. If a Participant wins airtime whilst using a contract phone or Virgin Mobile, their prize will be transferred to an eligible prepaid number of their choosing.

 

  1. The cost per USSD Entry is 20 cents per 20 seconds.

 

  1. The Promoter shall not be responsible for any lost, delayed, incorrect or incomplete entries for any reason whatsoever, whether as a result of any platform, network, computer or cell phone hardware or software failure of any kind, or otherwise. Proof of submission will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Late or incomplete entries will not be valid and will not be eligible for participation.

11.1 All vehicles are second-hand.

11.2 None of these vehicles have a Motor Plan, Service Plan, Warrantee or Insurance of any kind.

  • The Winners are strongly urged to obtain comprehensive insurance prior to driving the vehicle.

11.3 All vehicles are won on the basis of being “voetstoots”.

11.4 INDEMNITY: All winners and drivers of the vehicles indemnify and will have no claim of any kind whatsoever against Promoter, its associated companies (directors, officers and employees) and agents, arising from use or possession of the vehicles;

11.5   The Winners of the vehicles MUST be in possession of a valid and current driver’s licence to win the vehicles, failing which the Promoter reserves the right to award the vehicle to the next-drawn winner. No person shall have any claim in this regard against the Promoter, its associated companies (directors, officers and employees) and agents.

11.6 All the vehicles will be handed over by the 14th of April 2017.

    3. To be eligible to win, the winner must be in possession of a Motorcycle Licence.
    4. The winner will be liable to pay for insurance of the vehicle from the point of handover.
    5. The handover will take place at a venue to be selected at the time of handover, winner must be present and allow for images and video content to be shot for social media content.
    6. The prize cannot be swopped or redeemed for cash.

  1. This promotional competition is organised by Makro (Masstores (Pty) Limited, trading as Makro SA (registration number: 1991/006805/07)) and The South African Breweries (Proprietary) Limited (‘the promoter/s’).
  2. ​The competition commences on 1 October 2016 and ends on 31 December 2016.
  3. For the purpose of this competition “customer” or “you” means the natural person, whose name, contact telephone number and South African Identity number are reflected on the Makro SAP Customer Relationship Management system ("SAP CRM 7 system") at the time of the draw and whose details are attached to the Makro card used to purchase the product of the participating brand from Makro.
  4. All commercial customers must take note of the fact that the prize will be awarded to the natural person as stipulated in these rules and that the prize will not be awarded to any legal entity. It is therefore the customer’s obligation to ensure that the correct people’s details are recorded on the SAP CRM 7 system to represent the legal entity.
  5. Entry into the competition is automatic, using your details and the actual purchasing data on the Makro SAP CRM 7 & BI systems and you will be entered provided that:
    • you are a natural person over the age of 18;
    • you are in possession of your valid South African ID book;
    • your complete, accurate and up to date name, contact telephone number and South African identity number are captured and appear on the Makro SAP CRM 7 system;
    • your identification can be verified through their South African identity book;

  6. Your entry into the competition means that you agree and understand that you will stand a chance to win a prize only and that there is no guarantee that you will be receiving any prize.

  13. Although we have taken care to make sure that the prize/s is/are of a good quality, we do not give any warranties about the prize/s and you agree to accept the prize/s “as is”.   19. The winner/s of the prize/s must collect their prize/s from a Makro store, at a time arranged with the Makro representative, within one month of being notified, failing which they will forfeit the prizes, and in which event, Makro reserves the right to re-draw a new winner .
  20. Gift card prizes: if the gift card is misplaced or lost and subsequently used by someone other than the winner, Makro will not replace the gift card and the winner will bear such loss. These gift cards will be subject to all the normal terms and conditions relating to the usage of gift cards in Makro, which can be obtained from www.makro.co.za.
  21. The value of the prize includes VAT, and the goods will be given to the winner at the ruling price which is available to any customer on the day that they are rung up at the till.
  22. In order to be eligible to win a prize, customers must not have issued dishonoured cheques, or have overdue payments due to Makro at the time of the draw. 
  23. Any costs or expenses incurred in respect of items not specifically included in the prize/s are for the winner’s own account.   28. In the event of a dispute, the decision of the competition judges is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.

  3. The Competition begins on 1 November 2016 and ends on 31 December 2016 (“Competition Period”) and is only available at participating outlets listed in paragraph 5 below.
  4. There are instant win prizes and a main prizes to win. The instant-win prizes are:

    The main prize is an “Ultimate Draught Experience” where the winner and a friend (who must be 18 years or older) will be taken on a tour across the country to experience draught beer in different occasions, including being welcomed with ice cold draughts in Johannesburg, visiting the SAB hop farms to see where it all begins, having dinner and draughts with sporting legends, taken on a private Newlands brewery tour, experiencing Tank Fresh Beer with a food & beer pairing experience in Cape Town and having a draught at the top of table mountain. Accommodation for all nights, drinks, meals and return economy flights will be included. All valued at R40,000.
  5. The participating outlets include selected Castle Lite Draught outlets within the Top Shayela and Upmarket Local sub segments.
  6. To enter for the instant-win prizes, Participants must purchase 1 x 500ml Castle Lite Draught at a participating outlet during the Competition Period to receive a scratch card, and scratch to reveal whether they have won an instant prize or not. Participants may only enter 2 times for instant-win prizes.
  7. To enter for the main prizes, participants must scratch the same scratch card to reveal your unique code and follow the USSD string (*120*604*CODE#) to enter into the draw to win the “Ultimate Draught Experience” the winner and a friend. Rates charged at 20c per 20 seconds. The “Ultimate Draught Experience” will commence on 2 March 2017. The draw will be done on 9 January 2017.
  8. The prizes cannot be transferred or exchanged for their cash value, and instant-win prizes must be redeemed at the participating outlet.
  9. The Promoter may make media announcements / publications of the names / photographs of the winner/s, provided that any winner/s may expressly elect to decline this. The Promoter reserves the right to carry out audits in respect of any winner/s to verify their eligibility.
  10. All Participants and winners indemnify the Promoter, its associated companies (directors, officers and employees) and agents, against any / all claims for any loss or damages, whether direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise, arising from any cause whatsoever related to their participation in any way in this Competition.
